Our new film produced for the V&A is now live on their site. We interviewed such greats as Margaret Calvert, Thomas Heatherwick, Kenneth Grange and two of Graphic Thought Facility.

They were asked about their contributions to the exhibition, - as well as their particular favourites within British design from the past as well as now. The show covers the post-war period from 1948 and the Great Exhibition in 1951, right up to 2012. Well worth a visit to South Kensington. Produced with the good people at CultureShock Media.

Island Pictures Ident

Bit of radio silence of late. But we have been very busy finishing off various jobs over the last few weeks. Just reached completion of our V&A film, for their newly opened British Design exhibition. (separate post to follow on that)

Another is this ident for production company ‘Island Pictures’, made to preface their first feature film ‘The Scapegoat’ based on the Daphne Du Maurier novel. ‘The Scapegoat’ is to be screened on ITV later this month. To which we also contributed the creation of the titles. Design is based on logo by Ray Leek of RLD.

V&A ‘British Design’ Exhibition Promo

Just starting production on a promo for the V&A’s new exhibition ‘British Design 1948-2012′.

We’ll be shooting interviews with a selection of well-known designers across a variety of disciplines. Asking them about their favourite object from the last fifty years of British design. The film will wend its way through the recent history of British design using a mixture of live-action interviews and animation.

Interview with ‘I Love Dust’ for CR

We took a trip to famed Soho burger bar ‘Meat Liquor’ (pronounced ‘meat licker’) yesterday to film the latest Creative Review interview.

We spoke to creative director of architecture firm ‘Shed’ who bought in ‘I Love Dust’ to add some amazing illustrations to the interior. Taking inspiration from Dali, Steadman and in no small way, owner and the driving-force behind ‘Meat Liquor’ Yianni Papoutsis. Well worth a visit – for the burgers first and foremost but whilst you’re waiting for your order the amazing interior well certainly keep you entertained.

A slightly belated Happy New Year and a little update for 2012! We’ve got a great stack of projects coming up before March, including promos for the V&A’s new exhibition, British Design, Creative Review’s iPad app and more besides.

Tomorrow (snow permitting!) we’re filming a new CRTV episode at Soho burger joint, Meat Liquor, talking to illustration team I Love Dust and interior architects Shed about their approach for the amazing interior. You can see some photos here (on Dezeen) to get an idea of what we’ll be discussing.

Creative Review – McKnight Kauffer Profile

New video produced with Creative Review is now live on their blog, watch it here. We spoke with Chris Adams, curator of the McKnight-Kauffer – ‘Poster King’ exhibition at the Estorick Collection in Islington.

The video has a counterpart piece in December’s print issue of CR, which came out last week. The ‘Poster King’ show closes on December 18th and is well worth a visit.

Our film produced with Creative Review, profiling letterpress typographer and designer Kelvyn Smith will be shown as part of the American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA) screening – ‘EXPOSURE: IDEAS AND PROCESS // PAST AND FUTURE’ Read more about it here.

The screening takes place at Downtown Independent - Wednesday, November 30, 2011 from 8:00 PM, head down if you’re in LA. (Thanks to Jack at AIGA)

D&AD Mentored company

Order will soon be starting out as a D&AD mentored business, we’ve just been finalising the process that will see us being linked with an established company in the production industry.

Helping us advance our business knowledge and expertise, whilst generally advising us how best to move forward to improve and expand Order as well as the work we do.

Not much more we can say yet, but very excited about the possibilities that this will bring us. More to come!

Profile of McKnight-Kauffer exhibition

The next episode in our continuing collaboration with Creative Review will see us travelling to Islington’s newly opened Edward McKnight-Kauffer exhibition. The show is running until December 18th at the Estorick Collection of Italian Modern Art.

We will be talking to exhibition curator Christopher Adams about the enduring figure of McKnight-Kauffer and his famed poster art. You can read more about the artist and the show on the Estorick site here. Its really worth seeing if you get a chance.

Our short produced for the Crafts Council’s current exhibition ‘The Power of Making’ is currently screening as part of a series of videos in the V&A’s Porter Gallery.

Our video features letterpress typographer Kelvyn Smith and is a companion piece to our profile of Mr Smith and his letterpress workshop produced last year for Creative Review.
